wht happens in all of them?

  #2

all RTA are characterized by either excess loss of bicarbonate or decreased secretion of H+.
type1- distal RTA- defect in secretion of H+ ions into urine
Type2-proximal RTA defect in absorption of bicarbonte.
type3- term not used now(actually it is combination of type 1 & type 2)
type4-decreased secretion of K+ ions in turn leading to decreased H+ secretion
