Hi Where is the maximum osmolarity present in renal tubules: Kaplan says irrespective of the action of ADH it is tip of loop of henle But uw says that without maximum action of ADH it is tip of loop of henle but with maximum action it is medullary collecting duct Pls clarify.........

What kaplan says is correct---irrespective of the action of ADH it is the tip of loop of henle that represents the point with the highest osmolarity. In the absence of ADH,the osmolarity of the collecting duct fluid can increase to(up to 1200 mOsm/L),but never exceed, the osmolarity in the interstitium at the tip of the loop of henle.
