Parkinsonism gait. Is it narrow based or broad based?

I suppose it is broad based to increase stability; it is gait of small steps, decreased rising of feet from the ground, phenomena of hesitation, festination and freezing, anteflexion of the body

The right answer is narrow based gait. However in another explanation where they were describing the signs of Parkinsonism, they say there is a wide-based gait. Anyway the important thing to remember is that the person takes small steps, makes wide turns and drags their feet (shuffling gait) -they try to avoid falling over... I don't know about narrow vs broad based gait though as I'm reading different things from various sources.

And by the way: broad-based gait is typical of cerebellar disease. (eg. cerebellar atrophy due to chronic alcohol abuse -which was the example given in UW)
