Hello Guys,

Is any1 doing, did Genetics from kaplan could advice me regarding the last 3 chapters ..

Chapter 4 : Genetics of common diseases ...

All i can get from that chapter is the margin note of recurrence risks for multifactorial disease, Li-Frauminin syndrome & the table of genes involved in familial & sporadic cases of selected common diseases( Table II-4-3) that i think was repeated in patho

Chapter 5: Gene Mapping

it is so tough to understand and the video guy is not saying much to help u ... what i feel is important is ...

LOD score values' meaning

relation between the recombination frequency & LOD Score & Linkage Disequilibrium

& that 1cM = 1% recombination frequency

Chapter 6 :Genetic diagnosis

feel it much repeated infos from molecular biology ... just to know the diferrence between the Direct & Indirect method of Dignosis

and the ASO and Dot Blot method not mentioned in molcular

These are the infos that i feel i got & feel important from these chapters, I feel it is much chatting, expalining and wasting of time so i like to remain focused ... so, do u feel the same way about these chapters??? could any1 add something i might have missed ?? or state that this is ok or enough??

BTY, these infos are not mentioned at all in Kaplan medessentials which supposed to be the summary of Kaplan notes and just the high yeild points, which might indicate the true importance of these chapters.

I wasn't refering to your post. Anyway, the problem is that not all forum members know how to translate Messenger and SMS language and some others don't feel like reading it all the time. Ppl dnt rite lik ths in rel lif, do they? So please do not do it here.

Learn how to form a pedigree from a description of disease pattern in the family and vice versa. Learn how to identify the disease lineage patterns and most of all learn to all there is to be learned about the lab tests. After that one of the senior said dude there are only 6 chapters how had can it be to memorize and remember them ( yeah right !!). Just cover Kaplan and thats all.
