AN OLD Q reads:
Renal correction of hyperkalemia will result in which of the following?

A. Alkalosis
B. Acidosis
C. Increased secretion of HCO3
D. Increased secretion of H+
E. Increased excretion of Na+

This question 'might' be originated from
http://www.mc.edu/campus/users/sbaldwin/Physiolog...
which has the answer A
AND option D printed as : "DECREASE secretion of H"
hope this clarifies some mysteries.

Yeah choice D should be "decrased secretion of H+"----otherwise both A and D will be the correct answers.

i think the hperkalemia associated with metabolic acidosis therefore the renal correction will toward the alkalosis.
I m not sure plz correct me.

  #4

usually the correction doesnt overshoot, so if starting out with metaacidosis, renal compensation wont tuen it into metalkalosis
