so, yesterday was a good day.... i started renal, got about 75% of goljan renal audio done, will finish that this morning..... and i finished the renal chapter in medessentials, which is easier said than done, there is so much information on just one page, it takes a long time to read and actually figure out what it is they're trying to explain....
anyhow, for today: finish goljan audio for renal, start on renal questions, review accordingly..... sounds like a good plan....

thanks, genbot, glad to see you're still around the forum.....
well, finished the audio, but that's about it.... its been kind of slow since i had some other stuff going on.... just run of the mill home stuff, but still takes time away from studies.... oh well...... anyhow, need to do questions and more questions..... good luck to me!

well, did only 50 questions yesterday.... will finish explanations today and more questions.... weekends always slow for me, never seem to get much done, i really need to speed this up.....

well, i'm trying, slowly but surely.... today was good, i did reproductive chapter in medessentials and went on to do questions.... not bad but i keep getting the micro confused.... need to review this more then do more questions..... suprisingly i'm getting the path & pathophysio questions right... thanks goljan.... anyhow, enough for today, will start early tomorrow and review questions..... perhaps move on to next chapter depending how i feel after the questions.... ok then, off i go!

hey luck08!.... yep, doing kaplan q bank for 3 months..... as i'm reading medessentials.... trying to finish this quickly so i can have time to do uw questions at the end....
so i finished reproductive section with questions yesterday and started reading endocrine.... planned on finishing that this morning but its almost 11 am and i haven't started yet.... i woke up early, but started doing misc things and got carried away with the time.... well, let me get to it, then, will post my progress later!

well did my questions and reviewed almost all but didn't finish.... for tomorrow morning, have about 8 questions to review..... decided not to go on to next chapter but catch up on goljan audio for the systems i have done.... then do questions.... haven't decided if i should try and do these mixed and random including the chapters i've already done.... will think about that.... probably need to start integrating the different subjects and not do them one by one.... anyhow, will get back tomorrow..... getting very sleepy and can't take it any more.....

well, today was a slow day... finished my questions..... checked the ones i had trouble with in the book, then only heard one section in goljan...... tomorrow will be a better day.... need to finish goljan audio for endocrine, then practice some questions, and review these.... need to get those numbers up!!!! anyhow, i'm out!

hey 5fu, when's u exam? i have it soon, got inspired by u post, i too am taking it for second time, want to just destroy it, but am so tired of studying, i have been slacking past few weeks, i am doing goljn daily with study partner, we reading, but i did it prior the audios, it is just hard to do everyday and get other things done, doing usmlerx now to get FA imbedded to my memory but i am so far behind, not sure what to do.. in some rut now, looking for some wise words of inspiration, hehehe.. got any?? what is u schedule from this point forward? i def wnat to take my exam before 24th, so not much more time for me, how about u??
i too have been caught up in the madness and nba, i luv to wtch the games, only hobby for me nowadays, haha.. but have such hard time to not at least relax with the games.. how r u coping??

hey hottie.... well, haven't set an exam date yet.... was planning for end of april, but quite frankly i'm scared..... but honestly, think i'll be ready by end of may.... think i'll go ahead and set the date to make it official.... anyhow thanks for the vote of confidence.... and glad you could find inspiration in my simple words... what can i tell you, we all struggle, and have to live this day by day, baby steps.... as for nba games... thats ok as long as you're not watching all day long 
i prefer hgtv - home shows, house hunters... lol anyhow, will start study today a little early than usual b/c need to run some errands later today.... ok then good luck!

hottie... make a plan and stick to it.... no matter what!
today..... i finished goljan audio for endocrine.... will prob have to listen to again, didn't really get everything.... gave FA another chance and reviewed endocrine from FA, and started reproductive chapter, not that bad, however medessentials tends to have more details on some things and vice versa.... kind of a slow day, but saturdays usually are and i had to stop about a million times, so considering that, it was a good day.... sundays are even slower, so i'll try to do my best tomorrow to finish reading repro from FA and some other little odds and ends here and there.... well, there's the plan..... ok then.

hey here's a question for u, im using same books, i have med essentials, FA and doing goljan currently.. i am thinking to make my test exactly 15 days from now, so that means on 20 i take my test, so ok, u think i just do one subject, do it from goljan and FA and medessentials in one day and then do questions at end of day?? and for subjects not covered from goljan (aka biochem/genetics/molec cell) pick separate day for those and do only FA and medessentials, yes?? this is plan i came up with today, as for subject breakdown, i figure i do main subject per day with exception like rheum and smaller subs on one day together, big subs like cardio and pulm nd renal only one day each for them, sounds do able??
only problem is i dont know how u get to finish each subj in a day with doing medessentials/FA/goljan, doesnt that take a lot of time?? looking fwd to u reply, goodnite!

sounds like a good plan, hottie, but yes, you're right, if you really want to remember this stuff... or at least reproduce it for the exam, one day for each subject might not be enough.... for example.... the subjects that are longer in medessentials ie: neuro and cardio... might want to spend two or three days rather than one so the second day you can do just questions or do FA in morning, since its lighter read, then do questions in afternoon... don't know, it's up to you.... but yes, 15 days is doable, but not to be taken lightly, work hard and stick to your plan!!!!
so.... today..... today is a short day as it is 3 in the afternoon and i am just starting to sit down at my desk, and i have to help mom with cooking today so that means a break later on to whip something up real quick.... anyhow, FA, more FA, then questions?? i guess, will see how it goes.... ok then, let me get to it b4 i have to stop to cook....

oh, almost forgot.... don't forget to do nbme before actual test day to see where you stand.... its incredible how close the real score correlates with nbme.... its almost scary how accurate it is (i didn't believe it until i experienced it myselfno:

yes for sure, but i have done prior to for other forms and took the new form 5 prior to beginning this last few weeks, got 440 (im happy it's in pasing range, i just want it in 500s so i feel for sure i will pass) maybe that set me off into a nonchalant attitude, who knows.. but yes i agree with larger subjects, i will try this plan i think and that way get more stuff done, i have to get this test over with, it is putting such a hold on my life, thx for words, good luc!!

last couple of days have been a little crazy.... didn't study much.... only about 50 questions, and a few pages of FA.... need to step things up so i can keep with my schedule....

its important to stick to your schedule coz once we lag behind... it keeps on and on and everything slows down.
i'm writing in your journal for first time, but i've been peeking in once in a while.... in the last few days of my exam i just kept myself from forum surfing coz it was a big distraction for me.... i just love this forum...
