mt sinai offers housing for visiting students! when i was there a friend of mine stayed there (i myself was very lucky to be able to stay with relatives) but the housing is great and according to my friend it was not hard to get and not expensive (it was august, too). perfect location, too. ask jeannette or yovanna (i'm sure you know them already if you went through the elective application process) their contact is given at the mount sinai visiting students website) about housing.
