i gave the exam yesterday...
n all i have to say is.... i felt exactly the same way i felt after my step 1... tht the earth just separates, n i fall inside....i dnt want to face my parents, dnt want to see the result,dnt want to pursue wit the residency, nt want to go to the US..... just want to die.
i knew tht exam was gonna be long.... so i was prepared... but sadly my second block closed before i cud finish the last question, which was an audio visual. i finished the rest of the blocks just in time.took a ten min break after the second block, a 15min lunch break after the 4th block n a ten min break after eack block there after.
i am so scared to even say the exam was ok.... coz i suddenlt remember all the questions i had a doubt on....i actually tht of postin this after my result, but by tht time i wnt remember ne thing..
in each block i had atleast 4 questions... for which i was totally confused. also thr were some out rt direct questions.... had a lot of questions on the acid base balance.
all the elderly patients had DM,HTN, n most had COPD, all the middle age pts had some joint problem(it was so so horrid of them to give those sick choices), n all the sick kids had a RASH! no typical rubella, or measles, or fifth disease
lots of psychiatry,musculoskeletal, not much dermatology. had some 4 questins with an ECG...
though i aint very bad at the ecg(cant make out stuff like MI, pericarditis,)but on the exam..the ECG wasnt much helpful... i answered based on the history....
had two questions on hypercalcemia... whish were horrid... no clue..on second readin also.thankfully dint have many questions abt substance abuse .
wel... thts all i can remember rt now...will pen in if i recollect ne thing important.
i was so supertitious this time around(infact all the time i am like tjis,when it comes to my exam) i stayed in the same hotel like i did for step1, wore the same clothes, had fud at the same place, n even made my parents wear the same clothes. i know i must be sounding crazy... but i have done evrythibg possible to get a gud result.
its some relaxation time for me after 7 long months of study, tension, irritation n i dunno wat not. thugh the tension continues... infact increases, coz i have all the time in the world to sit n think abt the result(which i plan not to).
i feel i have had studied enuf....n i hope god feels the same way...coz b4 the exam i was lookin at a 99 but now i know i'll be happy as long as i pass... i have no energy to do this yet again. i have had give 3 attempts to the step 1. i wud prefer to hang myself if it has to happen this time..
thts all for now..... now tell me when do i expect my result? or shd i not wait for it?

hay
u r not the only one out there with horrified exam experience,it happens specially post exam day 1 and 2 ,its like postexam blues ,u have done great effort and result would be grreat too,just relax and have party in same resturant as u had last time after ur first step success

Good luck. Now it's time to relax a bit and pray more.
it's okay to be superstitious at times as long as it's not affecting you in a negative way. This is just another exam, we have more coming. it's stressful but not worth to" hang yourself" for it.
