Kaplan Qbank USMLE

I have a question regarding the high yield topics on USMLE Step 1.

Is it enough for Step 1 to learn only the topics covered in FA, of course with broader knowledge and notes from Kaplan or other similar books?

For example: I have in front of me a page from FA opened and it lists the following topics:

Amniotic fluid abnormalities
Potter's sindrome
Lumbar puncture
Lower extremity nerve injury
Spinal cord lower extent
Spinal nerves

This page is from Anatomy. It could be any page from FA, and it represents all pages from FA (you know where I am getting at, right?)

So, if I use all of the topics covered in FA, from beginning till end, supplemented with notes from for example Kaplan and Goljan, can I be sure that I will cover all the study material for USMLE Step 1?

I ask this because I don't know if I have to go very deep with Kaplan, and memorize all the material from it, or just use FA as a guide of what is really and truly high yield, and here dig deep and learn only the facts mentioned in it.

Thanks,

You can do it like that, but use online usmleworld for at least 1 month to supplement.

One can never complete evrything that u need for Step 1 examination.cool

In case u have such misconceptions, pls get rid of them my dear friend.

First Aid is a Comprehensive Review book just like Kap Medessentials.

Which means it can be used only after Kaplan notes ( for typical IMG prep ), cos for AMGs they write step 1 , right after 2nd year of medicine , so they need not have any review books either as they are fresh from the subject...they can right away jump into FA and crack the exam in 4 weeks time...And more over they will be following FA right from their start of medical school and annotate FA while studying textbooks for their basic sciences...nod

Its such a point to point way of presentation in FA that it makes sense only after u got hold of the concept from any review book such as kaplan / brs etc.

Hope u got my point smiling face

and yeah Cooperativeness is there or not ? wink
