I'm sorry to hear about that, buddy!! It's not the end of the world, you just need to wrap up again and give it another shot!! I only can tell you from my experience: I did uw for one month and Kaplan qbook. I practiced all the cases in the USMLE CD just to get a sense about the software. You're right, it's a tought exam but you can manage to pass next time! I was freezing too at Prometric Best of luck!

Thanks Laura for the encouragement. Honestly I am a good USMLE taker! I can easily be distracted! Thanks for the tips. I finished the fisrt Aid again and wanna go for the USMLE CD as you said. Do you know how we can get a one-day break between the two days? I know some people did. Thanks again and take care.

I think you can get some extra time in between by choosing a Friday for the first day and a Monday for the second...I'm not sure.... Did you ask for ear-plugs and they didn't have it!?!?! You can report this because I don't think they'll let you in with yours!!! I was not allowed in the testing room with a tissue provided by Prometric even if I had a runny nose!!!!!!! That's life...bad things do happen, but choose the best of it!

Negative points. What you said and my response 1. I couldn't take the exams in a one day gap between! Prometric center didn't let me!(Your fault all you have to do is schedule in a center that has days available not hard at all. 2. The hotel was so noisy and I couldn't sleep very well. (call the front desk andASK TO CHANGE YOUR ROOM i HAVE DONE THIS MANY TIMES THEY ALWAYS AGREE) 3. The exam center was noisy and distracted me a lot! (do not believe you these centers are very profesional never happened to me 4. They didn't offer me an ear plug! (tHEY DONT HAVE TO OFFER you ask and they will give) 5. The room temperature was very cold! (wear layered clothing many people take clothing like this just in case) 6. I couldn't mange the time! (your fault should have prepared better) My advice is it weas your fault just study harder and stop complaing I need some tips to over come my failures for the next time. Thank

ram DONOT be so critical of anyone just because you didnt have to go through that. I totally understand you dr9576.. He/she has done a retrospective analysis of WHAT MIGHT HAVE GONE WRONG? saying things like I donot believe you is highly unjustified and demoralising. PLEASE STOP

You should ignore Ram - I guess he's had some bad experiences in life. His posts are always rude.

dr9576, the best quality in you thats going to help you ace this exam is that you KNOW what went wrong and you have the courage to accept things rather than go in denial and waste time in regretting. I am sure you will pass this time. I totally understand your situation. I will advise u to do many questions in timed mode and that will help u think faster as im sure u must be knowing ur stuff but time pressure made you make mistakes. It happens to everyone dont take it personal. God will help us...He helps everyone who needs help.

yeah that happens...when you fail in something...the initial reaponse is to blame others.. ...this is my third attempt for step 2 CS and am waiting for the result..the lesson i have learnt is that don't blame others..the ECFMG guys conduct exams in a pretty unbiased way..but at the same time never feel guilty..failure is a life's way to straigten us...we become more mature and responsible...every one commits mistakes..it's human.....but do learn from them..and always introspect yourself..this is a normal pattern after failure....in the begining you blame others but then move on to realising your mistakes....i scored 99 in both step 1 and 2 ck..so facing failure in CS was pretty hard for me...i was so confident of myself that i blamed the biased and racist attitude of SPs..but i was wrong...and then i realised that CS has only a bit to do with books..that it's more about showing empathy... in short it's important to learn your lesson..but never ever feel guily about your mistakes..everyone face pessimism..and sometimes no motivation works...but it's just another phase of life..if you expect to live without failures then it's not worth living at all..so just hang in there..and always love and believe yourself beyond doubts..

Crush step III, FA step III are good. But, in real exam most questions are new. I have never seen and thought of. Lots of guessing. I just tried to answer what I am probably going to do in real life situation. For CCS, practise both UW and USMLE 123.
