Dear BBB,
I have a query for u.I have applied for anesthesia and found the going very tough.I am planning to put my prelim too in the primary list.
In the event of getting a prelim med when can i start reapplying to anesthesia?next match?or can i send paper application sometime in the year?Typically when is it a good time to send applications for out of match positions?
Appreciate your help.

If you are in preliminary medicine and don't have an Anesth position for the next year, you will be using your vacation for interviews, if the program will let you do it that way. Applications will be through ERAS starting summer of 2008 - programs will download in September, just like this year.
I don't know about out of match spots, sorry.

if you have advanced IVs in anesthesia and have prelims in IM, why don't you put first in the main list and the second - in supplementary list? this way you will be matched in 2 consecutive years in one shot
