hello all....
time has come to write my experience now...
i had a very very bad experience for the first block .... 
cud answer only 20 ques ...very very bad ....cud not even make a diagnosis of ques...and dint know how to proceed.....
was in total shock wat was happening n i lost all my confidence....cud not even manage time in tht block....questions were so vague ....dint know which way they go...i mean i cudnt even exclude out of choices
then took a 10 min break...prayed...relaxed...
then went for second....it was ok...not too tough not too easy...choices were very close...
used to take a break of 5 min after each block....
third fourth were ok...
fifth sixth were a litle tough but not like the first one...
seventh was ok...not too tough but btw 3/4 and 5/6
time management was not a problem later
questions were not direct....
were complex ...like u had to make a diagnosis earlier then they asked something or the other about tht
3,4 ques in each block were in which i cudnt even exclude just made guesses
rest all questions were not like kaplan qbank were more inclined towards UW...
i mean u need not cram all the things...
was more of understanding...
questions were u had to scratch ur brain .....
many questions were done just by exclusion....
anyways it has all ended up...now just pray for scores
u never know how u did until u get scores coz ques were mostly done by exclusion method

i cross checked my questions now but were coming wrong so stopped dng that....was making me tense...

Thanks for sharing. I know there's lots of anxiety. Just hang in there. If you did your best, that's all you can do. Maybe the breaks you took after the block made you calm down and refocus which will work in your favor and maybe the first block was the experimental one. Relax. Good luck. Wishing you all the best.

Relax you have done good. You came back from the shock of the first block and recovered quite well. So just pray and you will be fine.

to come out of it and finished the rest.. i m sure u will do well
hows your test compare to the NBME test...are they equal level? or just leaning toward UW..
i m now doing kaplan qbank..but u said the test questions is not lik kaplan qbank at all..
maybe i should change my question sources ..

epc24 i meant the ques were not like u had to cram things
like whenever u do kaplan qbank u get all the high yield stuff n many direct question...
the ques here were like u shud know all the basics...4rget abt high yield stuff...it was there but not tht much
exam was more like UW n NBME.....
u check out nbme 1 or 2 u l get to knw wat i meant in the type of questions
u can know wat diff is there btw nbme and kaplan qbank
nbme is more of basics
this was wat i meant...even i did kaplan qbank n half of UW...was not able to do so...so dnt worry knw the theory part...ques will b solved automatically

moms doing fine now...she is on medications right now and her pain is better now !! thnx god tht angiogram came normal and no blockage in her coronaries....good luck for ur scores dear and trust me taking exam in itself is a big courageous thing !!!

thanks angel23 for ur insight on the test matter.
i have done the nbme 1 online a week ago.. i felt the nbme 1 is easier than kaplan somehow... cause most of the questions are shorter than kaplan
dont know if it is because nbme 1 is easier (some ppl have said that). I havent done NBME 2 yet
so i will do that at the end of this week, hopefully there is some improvement..
maybe i will give up the rest of qbank questions and begin UW tomorrw (i have about 500q left) ,
what do you think ? thanks

Hi Angel...
So as u were talking abt the way concepts were asked in the exam...
Can u pls detailly tell us wat u meant ?
I mean how are physiology/pathology/neuoranatomy/micro/pharmac/biochem/mol bio/genetics qs asked... giving an example for each subject.?
So that one can concentrate better on trying to get the so called basics rather than chasing those minute details etc etc... Draw a line between wat u consider basics and wat u consider theory ?
