whiple is explorative removal of the head of the pancreas, the duodenum, part of the common bile duct, the gallbladder and sometimes a portion of the stomach. It is looooooooooooooong! Basically they open your belly up, xiphoid to pubus and look at every bit of intestine and other stuff.
