Just for a record, has been doing UW like crazy coz I really want to do it second time. Man, I don't know what to say. I don't see any real improvement these days. In contrast, I think those Qs are so weird and I don't know what can prepare me for them. Sure, I am still making silly mistakes. But there are also tons of Qs, I just have no idea. My score from last six blocks are 66, 72, 64, 60, 58, 56. Plus, I have gone through the NBME Qs I have done last week. I found that I got about 160/200. I don't think I made too many silly mistakes and I don't think I can improve too much by simply going through FA a couple more times (maybe 170/200). I think I really did my best on the test. So I am pretty disappointed. I find it is pretty hard to improve my score right now. I am planning to go through Kaplan and Goljan one more time. But it is going to take a lot of time. I feel kind of stuck here. But I have to get to next level. I need to have a good plan for a thorough second read.

I will find a way to get through this! The goal is to get 180/200. I know it is hard or even unrealistic for me. But I have to aim high and push myself hard. It is really a game of perfection and passion and persistence.

I am almost finished with UW now, the last 5 blocks were very even 70-72%. Still have 4 more to go. Then I will start the second round of UW, trying to do it subject wise. It is one thing to do all the questions. It is another thing to really learn and own the concept or point. I hope this will be time that's well spent, cause I don't have that much time. I will not be able to take any time off before my test. I'll save that for my coming baby girl! She is due in early October. So I will have to take the test before middle september, if she is willing to cooperatenod I want to spend more time with wife and be ready for the baby in the last couple of weeks. I could not care less about anything else at this point. She is everything to me! The whole pregnancy thing was a roller coaster. My only wish is for her to be healthy and happy. She certaily made the whole prep a lot more interesting for menod

I have spent too much time on Qs these days. I think I need to manage 2-4 hours each day for FA, if possible, also for anatomy or neuroscience or behaviroal video, also for goljan RR and his audio. I don't think I will be able to handle all that. But I am trying anyways.

Thanks veteran and usmlekiller.

Finished the final four blocks of UW, 62, 68, 58, 75. I am rushing to finish this so that I can redo it one mor time. I feel like I still have a lot of things to learn in UW. Just have to use time very efficiently for the next two weeks to prepare for another NBME, form 3? Anyway, I will have to use every minute that I can find.

Additionlly, practiced two strategies to do Qs.

1. Try to finish every question the first time and don't go back at the end.

2. Try to finish each question as soon as possible and go back for the marked Qs.

Unsuprisingly, second method appears working better. It also gives me a sense of safety during the test. I guess this is the way to go.

Hey genbot, thanks for stopping by. It looks like you are doing excellent there. You two can go to any program you wishwink GL to your match! Have you decided what to apply? Anyway, I found your 80-90% in UW is not that easy to get after all. Ha, but I am still blindly confident that I am going to get one of those 99s.

Repeated about 200 Qs in UW today, focus on mastering the key concepts. Man, it really takes time. Hopefully it will pay off eventually.

I did about 180Q (2nd time) from UW last night. Although I spent very little time on most explanations, man, at the end I was so tired. However, I don't really feel like I have learned a lot from this second round. But anyways, I will finish as planned. Hopefully by the end of next week, I will finished second round of UW. It definitely takes a bit longer than expected. With those Qs, it is so hard to squeeze some time for FA or Goljan.

Second NBME is scheduled on 8/2, aim for 600/240. I know it is a lot to ask and almost mission impossible. But it is killing me not to get a 99. At the same time, it motivates me to work harder. Enough with daydreaminggrin I will give it all for the next 15 days or so to see what happens. After that I will start Kaplan Q bank on 8/3 and try to finish it in one month.

It is getting real crazy. It is time for full speed prep. Hopefully I will make it.

Hi commit,

You Rock! Keep up the great work. To squeeze 180 questions in a day is just awesome. I am a slow reader, i need to build some pace in these few weeks.

Have a productive weekend.

Hi simon,

Thanks. I am getting really tired. But we have to get through this. It certainly puts a lot more undesirable stress in our life. However, 10 years down the road, when we look back, this is going to be a sweet memory. Let's do it!

Finished about 700 UW Qs in the last five days. I am trying to finish the rest of 1300 Qs in the next six days. It is going to be one tough task. Hopefully I will make it. Will go through FA in the next 12 days to get ready for NBME. I also desperately need some time to work on Anatomy and BS. I would love to go through Goljan notes as well. There is just so much stuff to do. I will try my best to get as much done as possible.

As seen in another post, one thing to admit is our memory sucks. We just have to repeat and repeat and repeat to get where we want to be.
