Only a few days left to modify my rank order list and i dont know if i should rank these preliminary tracks.

If i take a preliminary position in peds on H1 and get in to a residency next year and manage to get a fellowship that start immediately as my residency ends how does the Visa thing work? Six years will be over one year before the fellowship is over so can i extend it or will is it that i cant start a fellowship at all and will have to wait till i have a green card ?

Hi Motorola
your question is important, I did a little search and found H1B visa is for one employer originally but under certain circumstances you can change to new job if both the old and new employer sign certain forms.

I think we should talk also about the programs that sponsor green card. do have idea how many of them do this? if you want a green card then your employer must apply for you and must say that he needs you permanently. most of those who sponsor H1B visa won't do this for us.

sincerely
