The ECFMG has my score report since January 9th, but is still holding it back because they are awaiting a reverification from my medical school about my student status. They sent their first letter to my medical school on October 2nd, which never arrived at my medical school, or at least not at the proper recipient (if they used the same adress as listed on IMED, they just sent it blindly to our faculty, not the person in charge for international student affairs). What makes me angry is the fact that they waited over 3 months until they got my score report after I took the exam on December 12th, before they wrote me a letter that they are waiting for a reverification of my student status. As this letter never arrived and to speed things up, I went to our medical school and we wrote an official letter confirming my student status, date of birth, ECFMG Number etc., and sent it to them 2 1/2 weeks ago. I also asked them at ECFMG to send a new request to the exact adress which I sent them per email. Now, I´m still waiting for my score. I´m not sure if they accept the letter my medical school wrote or if it is necessary to use their form which they normally sent. The fact that I had to wait as good as three weeks when I sent my application form back in July still gives me a bit hope that they haven´t processed my letter. Before you ask, yes I called EFCMG. The lady on the phone wasn´t really able to help me, she could´nt even tell me to which exact adress they sent the letter, and even told that they sent a letter on January 9th (which was only for me, not a new request to my medical school). Has anyone been in a similar situation? The problem is, I wanted to start with my Step2 CK preparation next week, but it´s kinda hard for me to focus without knowing that I passed Step1. To be true, I think I would rather take Step1 again if I failed before I start preparing for Step2 CK. Sorry guys for whining around, but I always thought taking the test was the harder part, not getting your results. FYI, I checked abit around regarding their reverification request. I found an old post where someone said that if there are more than 60 (or was it 90?) days between your registration and actual exam they want a reverification of your status. So as I registered in July for the October-December period, well, this is the result of it. Maybe this helps future test takers a bit.
