there is no reason of rejecting your B1 visitor visa for that conference. I have been in US for many times on B1 visa and for conferences only. Do you have a funding for your trip? It's hard to assure the VO that you are not going to stay in US if you are coming on your budget. if you have this fuding letter, that will be the most important. otherwise you can get the invitation letters and registration details from the website of any scientific conferences. They generate the general invitation letter for everybody who is attending the conference, to avoid the headache of writing them separately. Anyways, if you have the fuding and the proof of this funding you are more likely to get a visa to attend the conference, but if not you have less chances...
