All the best, drnaik, for your score. Am currently waiting for my Step 1 score, so know exactly what you're going through!

drnaik, thanks...for CS ECFMG provides a letter requesting u to be given a visa to take the exam and that usually works to get u thru, however if u want to stay longer, say for USCE or Step 3, then other factors might become important...i wasnt employed when i applied for CS and it didnt matter...i'm not an expert but if u can show reasons that u wont try to become an illegal immigrant there like property, family here and genuine reason for wanting to stay beyond the time of exam if asking for more time then hopefully u wont have any trouble...all the best for ur results

hi everybody i was geared up to join MHA at univ of missouri, columbia until this day wen i received my step1 score of 99. i am really confused whether to join MHA and do observerships and gather credentials side by side or just go directly for usmle? after two years, there wud be lots of competition for matches and so this wait for 2 years and doing MHA might be counter productive. if some one has sumthin to advice here, it will be greatly acknowledged. thanks.

good scores are gr8 but i think making ur application well rounded and stand apart is essential too...unless u think doing a MHA and studying for steps is too hectic....u should try both at the same time and apply for residency in 2009 match...then if u get in u can always take a break from mha and finish it at a later date...ppl have done that with mph, though i am not sure of the details of mha flexibility

yeah ...same to u paheli and everyone else...ysterday seemed like what was called the 'mother of all fesitivals' in India...following, from times, lists the number of fesitivals there was ysterday...well so happy all of that to everyone Good Friday Purim, a Jewish festival celebrating the biblical book of Esther Narouz, the Persian New Year, which is observed with Islamic elaboration in Iran and all the "stan" countries, as well as by Zoroastrians and Baha'is. Eid Milad an Nabi, the Birth of the Prophet, which is celebrated by some but not all Sunni Muslims and, though officially beginning on Thursday, is often marked on Friday. Small Holi, Hindu, an Indian festival of bonfires, to be followed on Saturday by Holi, a kind of Mardi Gras. Magha Puja, a celebration of the Buddha's first group of followers, marked primarily in Thailand.

Yeah, it just goes to prove that all religions are based on the same foundation. And, I can vouch that it was no day to stay in y'day, and a crazy night to go out. Went out for dinner, and it was packed. Luckily, we frequent that place, so we got a table for all of us. Other unlucky ones were waiting for their turn at 10.30 when we left! Hey, mukho, are you in India enjoying it? Or watching from afar?

arre paheli was very much in India...but doing a 24 hr duty at the hospital...which was cool by me, not one for crowds... but was flooded by allergies and wheeze in kids(small price i guess for the overwhelming joy with which they described the morning !) RX135...such a fresh grad is a qualification in itself i think! i doubt anyone will ever ask u to explain a score drop from 99 to 96!! but mostly any bad performance (and urs isnt one) is justified on lines of...i didnt give it enuff time due to some reasons and i realize the places where i could have worked harder and am planning to make up for it in the next step ...again let me say to offer such an explanation in ur case is overkill...ur scores are fine improvement definitely would include USCE...if u are still a med student and graduating later this yr, try to get an externship...otherwise an observership is a must along with US Lors...get ur CS done well in time so that u are certified by sept 1st...and the remaining is presentation....pay attention to how u fill ur CV, what u write to describe ur rotations as an intern...what all u cite as ur qualification and soon u submit a completed application...chek out the various threads on the forum of ppl who matched....really interesting combinations of qualifications and achievements hope it helps...have fun guys

You won't be laughing that much! If you didn't understand what I just said, I'll leave it to the very same Mytime to explain further. Oh, and Congrats, mt!
