Interview season can be very frustrating...but it can also be a lot of fun vanshita....just a thought for these high strung times....spend time talking to friends and seniors not just about the IV season but of general stuff too....gives you a more wide range of conversation when in IVs...and enjoy the places you travel to, read a book, see a movie....I saw my cousin vinny a day before an Interview and ended up quoting a line fromt the movie at the right time to save me from one of those awful "ur favorite..." questions....
your baseline mood is reflected in interviews and u always want to present as cheerful and relaxed so its good to try to breath deep often and think of happier times and plan on the vacation u will go to once u match in ur fav prog !
not to underestimate the stress this time can cause but to emphasise, that we are all here, talk share and most importantly stay happy 
take care everyone...and happy durgapuja/dusherra!!

@vanshita even m going through samemood..not because of iv tension...coz of not gettngenough time for step3 preparation...i check email every now and then...wastng lot of time
also anxious how m going to face everythng during interview right frm travel, accomodation, facing iv...
But as everyone is going through same thing...i am not alone in this world...that what cheers me up...

hey katzung and seniors...
i wanted to know what are the options for someone who gets prematched in a univ affiliated community program(on h1b) with no fellowships and no good research ... how hard is it to get into fellowships for such a candidate ? specially if one is interested in heme-onco/nephro ? and other than trying for fellowships what other options exist after they complete residency? hows life for them as an internist without specialisation?

If you were applying in peds you would definitely get in to a good university program with those credentials. I dont know much about IM but you must not undersell yourself. Before accepting a prematch call every program director that you have been interviewed by and tell them that you are taking a prematch but u like them better!

i applied in IM only...one more question...would programs hesitate to rank high in the ROL, candidates who rejected their prematch offer? i heard that programs rank you low if you reject a prematch from them? is that true??
