Dear BBB and other friends:

1. I received a prematch offer and signed the letter of intent; however, the program said they can not send me the contract until after the matching day. I am wondering if letter of intent is the same legal agreement with contract and if it is safe for me to withdraw with letter of intent.

2. If I withdraw, the only thing I need to do is withdraw from NRMP, right? Do I need do anything else, including on myeras?

Thanx a lot for BBB and best wishes for all of my friends still in match.

1. Sure it is. Why do you think it wouldn't be?

2. Withdraw in NRMP. At this late date, I don't know if withdrawing in ERAS would do anything, although you could if you want.

Good luck

Dear BBB, thank you very very mcuh. Everybody, including me, haave received so much help from you, we do appreciate it more than we can say.

For Question 1, I just heard somebody prematched signed the contract before withdrawing, that's why I feel a little bit hesitant on this. It seems that different program has different way to handle the prematch. So, fromy our point of view, the letter of intent is safe enough for withdrawing, right? Thanx again.

Not everyone - many programs don't have contracts ready yet.
