Hi! How's everybody doing?

I have a rookie question... is it okay to apply to 2 different specialties in the same hospital? I had my heart set on applying to 1 specialty only, however I was advised to apply to another specialty. Should I reconsider applying to another specialty or is it better to put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to the match?

Would appreciate your advice. smiling face

yes u can apply to two different specialities in one hospital\\

but take care tht they should not hav same pd.for example if u r applying for combined programme they used to hav same pds...like med-paeds and im can have same pd...so beaware of tht

u know wat i find amusing... the importance placed on USCE.
i m still amazed at how graduates finde the time to do USCE.

it makes no sense for ppl like me. i am actively working, and just can t quit due to obligation to taxpayers who in a way have sponsored my med school. i have to repay by serving the ppl out of sheer gratitude.

if only the PDs see the way i see.
raised eyebrow
i hope in my case, scores alone is enugh... sigh

GOOD LUCK TO all getting into 2009 match.

  #191

Yes, graduation date is the date you got your medical diploma. I don't think anybody can comment on your chances - having a greencard is a plus. Good luck for your CK score. Look up specific program criteria before applying to programs.

All the best drcully.

hi friends and seniors ....
needed some advice..
I am an IMG with step 1:99, step 2:99, but i flunked my CS once sadand passed it the next time......
hav done 2 months of observership and 3 mnths of bench research..with 2-3 US LORs
many programs do not specify CS passing in first attempt in their requirements...
they specify step 1 and 2 in first attempt....how should i get to knw about CS?

  #196

Hi friends, count me in... Pakistani IMG

Step 1 : 99, Step 2 CK Sep 3! CS not given. I had a question. Does it make a diffrence if one doesnt apply on Sep 2? My exam is on Sep 3 and so I would be applying to programs after that! Is it worthwile taking time out before that to prepare my list? or could I do that in the week following my exam?

Plz advise! Thanx!
