I need help on this question asap. This is from a take home test and I have no idea. Please if you can help, me and my grade would appreciate it. You have two pure bredding strains of goldfish. Strain 1 has one large dorsal fin and strain 2 has 2 fins. You cross them together and all of the progeny have a single dorsal fin. You then mate brothers and sisters together and only 1 in 16 progeny has 2 dorsal fins. How do you explain this result? You did the cross above in a fish bowl at room temp. If you do the cross in an aquarium with a heater you discover that 7/16 fish have 2 dorsal fins. How would you explain this. What is the normal function of the gene(s) mutated in Strain 2? Thanks for any help
