Please kindly explain this to me

Should the MSPE,lor's etc be posted to the ERAS directly from our college in India or can we post it from the US Itself.Since I'm in The U.S.

When is the earliest date ,i.e which month is ideal for these docs to be posted to the ERAS.

Are the CAF and the Personal Statement part of the application or should we e-mail it to them ? Pls let me know.
Eagerly awaiting reply.
Thankyou .

truedoc,

you have a lot of questions, so I'll try to go one by one:

- ERAS is currently working on the 2008 match. The earliest you can apply for a token # and get registered (for the 2009 match) is late June 2008. You use the token number to get registered at the aamc/eras website- then you will get an AAMC ID number. Then you can start sending documents for scanning and uploading.

- for ERAS/match you send your MSPE and transcripts yourself. ECFMG is the organization who verifies your medical diploma and sends your diploma to your medschool and requires them to verify it and send also a transcript back. So bottom line: you should have a copy of both these documents for ERAS/match.

- Once you are registered with AAMC and ERAS you can start working on your CAF (online) and filling out the information. do not submit it unless you are really sure this is the final version! once it is submitted, no changes can be made. from the MyEras page you can work on CAF, look for programs, apply to them, pay for the applications and track the document download. Your personal statement you can start writing now, but it is also being submitted online (you can copy and paste it from a word document...)

the only paper documents YOU need to submit are theoretically only MSPE and the transcript. your LORs should be optimally submitted by the respective LOR writers. and the CAF and the PS you submit online from your MyEras account.

hope this helps.
