i'm in the same boat as some of you. i failed step 3. was wondering what other materials i should use. i reviewed kaplan lecture notes and videos and UWorld MCQ's and CCS. i really don't know what else to do. i tried my best and for some odd reason i even found it easier than steps 1 and 2. to find out that i failed it is a really big blow to my self-esteem. i'm planning to just take it if i get matched to a program, while in residency. i'm too tired to study all over again. is this a good idea?
hope someone can enlighten me on this.

Trust me I know the pain, I have been through this storm,,,my step 1 & 2 scores are 90+
So failing step 3 was a big blow to my confidence. But I have restarted and I am taking my exam on march 1st week. get over it and yes obviously you can do it, Best time is to take the exam again asap because once you begin your residency it will be very haaard. And you are almost there, buck up give it a try and get over it!
its difficult and extremely bad time, i know but GOD GIVES FAILURE TO THOSE WHO CAN HANDLE IT! i'm sure you can handle it my friend!

thanks for your advice redddd! i know what i ultimately have to do. it just takes so much strength to go back and do the same thing all over again, hoping that this time i won't screw up and finally get it right. it's like encountering a detour on the road and going back out again from whence you came from.
good luck in your exam! if i do get matched, i'll probably take it by may or june. otherwise, i may never have to take it at all......

but if you take it in May june, what will you do for your visa??? I mean isnt it too late if you need H1. What I understand is if anybody gets step 3 pass result by March end then he/she has a possibility to get H1 visa.

it's alright. i'll settle for J1 if ever. right now i don't want to risk messing up my retake. i don't believe i'm ready to take it by march, but thanks so much for your concern. Good luck again!!
