Which lab test help you differentiate (in a person without secondary sex. charact. but with uterus) between Turner and hypothalamic-pituitary failure?

FSH&LH
INCREASE IN TURNERS DECREASE IN HYPOTHALAMOPITUTARY FAILURE

exactly!

see. in turner think of it as there are no ovaries. so there will be increase in LH and FSH negative feedback

where as in pitutiary failure. there will be no LH FSH ( increase GnRH)



on a side note: Goljan says: turners are like premenstural menopause. ( also inc incidence of dysgerminomas)
