asmi, you are right. the answer is E but please tell me why? I thought it was Shigella infection cuz it's transmitted by fecal-oral and so is likely to occure in day care and mental hospital. I only know that Yersinia enterocolitica can cause mesenteric adenocitis which mimic appendicitis. ?

hmm.. does that make Yersinia the most often cause of the outbreak in day care? what about different age groups? and please also discribe a typical scenario for Shigella infection. thanks,

I would recommend everyone to read the below artical...very useful. Though we always consider shigella first for "day care centers"..i have come across this Q in kaplan and its said that yersinia is the leading cause for enteritis among" day care " in USA . so better to go for yersinia if this Q is asked...and i think that if its clearly mentioned about bloody diarrohea +that the organism is NLF and nonmotile..we should definately go for shigella. they will definately give us some hint..hiding in the long Q.. http://www.emguidemaps.homestead.com/files/diarrh...
