AS is distinguished from the other Autism Spectrum Disorders in having no general delay in language or cognitive development. Although not mentioned in standard diagnostic criteria, motor clumsiness and atypical use of language are frequently reported

The way I remember it is this:
Aspergers is like Autism without the languate impairment.
AND there is another similar one: Retts: thats like autism, but they have some weird behavior like hand wringing.

Asperger's= poor socio interaction, stereotype interests > so far looks like Autism BUT! communication OK, even early, normal to hight IQ, called "little professors"
Rett's = 5 months normal devpt, then stops, FEMALE only
