What I know is, that '' methylation of DNA '' is one of the control mechanism of regulation of gene expression, local chromatin modifying activity. Like when is methylated part of DNA it is an inactive DNA, the gene can not be expressed, that transcriptional enzymes RNA polymerases can not reach the DNA. So I assume that unmethylated dna is an active chromatin, which can be expressed.

truley said good girl... good example of this is methylation of DNA occuurs during X-inactivation....n cytosine is the most common methylated base in it.... n also bacteria methylate their own DNA to protect from action of restriction enzymes....
