This was in the Score thread so i thought i post it here.

Whew. exceptionally glad it's over and completely agree with anyone who has commented that the exam is grueling and it's tough to intuit how you're doing on it while you're in the throes of it. If anyone out there is in danger of procrastinating with this sucker the way i did --DON'T DO IT!

Prep consisted of mostly studying around work, although as the test date got closer I managed about 5 days pretty much dedicated only to studying. Did the NMS book pretty thoroughly, studied the penultimate edition of Crush for topical review (i did NOT read it cover to cover), and reviewed the notes I had made back in the dark ages when I was studying for step 2 (note i did step 2 so long ago that the "cs" portion of the exam hadn't even been invented yet). Also used UW MCQs and probably hovered around 50% correct responses (which was something like the 42nd percentile of other users, that was quite demoralizing) and completed about half of the questions. Read the 6o-odd CCS cases that are printable from UW (and wasn't I happy when one of them pretty much showed right up on my CCS; I was especially thrilled because it was a peds syndrome). Used 123's online CCS software and did about half of their cases -- I would strongly recommend that as it made me much more comfortable with the software on test day (though I also almost went to pieces during the exam when I realized that i had ordered every test routine instead of stat for a patient with some acute post-op complications!).
