A 7y.o girl felt ill abruptly:fever,headache,sore throat and vomiting.Bright red rash appear in reddened skin in 3hours.It is more intensive in axillae and groin.Mucus membrane of oropharynx is hyperemic.Greyish patches found on tonsils.Submaxillary lymph nodes are enlarged and painful.
Wht is the diagnosis?

scarlet fever is the rite ans.

what about measle?cant it with these symptoms?

look for busswords: rash prominent in axilla and groin = Pastia Lines = Scarlet Fever (other clues that would make it easier are strawberry tongue, sandpaper like rash, GAS positive hystory, etc)

cough, coryza, conjuntivitis, koplic spots = Measles
But sure, both have similar clinical presentation..

if it is measle, the question will tell you she is a unimmune girl

it's scarlet fever for sure...measels can cause similar signs but the question push us to think about scarlet fever like saying rash at the axilla and groin ,the enlarged tonsils with the grayinsh exudates...
