A 32 y.o XX who is 36 weeks pregnant is told during a prenatal appointment that her fetus is a breech presentation. An external cephalic version ( manually turning the fetus from the outside) is scheduled for the following week. For this procedure, the uterus must be relaxed. Which of the following drugs would be most appropriate for achieving this result?

b.-Phenylephrine

Stimulation of beta 2 receptors causes uterine relaxation. Ritodrine is a beta 2 agonist. Terbutaline is also sometimes used.
