or did u meant most common infection in SCIDS ??

causatve agent means something that causes a disease.in this case the 4 year old gets scid @ age 4.so what caused it?thats the q.

Why all this confusion about SCID...its a genetic disease...can be both autosomal and x linked, but isnt caused by any infectious etiology ...
Nidi-maybe the ques actually meant the commonest infective organism afflicting SCID patients, as asmi was suggesting

SCIDS isn't caused by infection. Infection is a consequence of it. It's caused by genetic disorder. The agent that most commonly presents are usually fungal like Pneumocystis carinii. But since your list of answer choices only has viruses, I would have to say herpesvirus would be the most common virus that presents. CMV is popular in these kids.
