hi everyone,this is regarding usmle steps,my friend she is a dr in india,and she is practising her medicine,she took her step1 long ago,more than 8yrs,she did not pass the exam,so she did not try again ,she started her practise in india,now she wants to give her exam all the steps,its possible for her to get the residency programe ,they say 7yrs to complete the usmle,can someone give an idea what they actually mean it,sitting for the exam or passing the exam. thanks

as far as i know ur friend will have to take all her steps again including step1 since 7 yrs is the time limit to clear all the steps

sure ur friend can take exam,and apply for residency. 7 years means the result is valid for 7 years any way she has to take all the steps so doesnt make big differences.but let me tell u the reality , getting residency day by day is becoming more difficult.I m not discouraging her but she has look all the aspects,like visa status and exam competition. gud luck to her

7yrs before she too the exam step1,and she did not pass the exam ,now again she is going to take the exam,will the previous result appear in her usmle trancript please. thanks
