can u rank programs that u didn't interview at knowing that they will most likely have unfilled positions that u may match into? or is that pointless? any response will be appreciated. thanks

If you did not attend an IV or were not invite for an IV in that prog, they obviously will not rank you (even they have unfilled positions). There is no point to rank that prog. Good luck.

You can't match at a program that didn't rank you even if the program has unmatched positions at the end of the match algorithm.... in order to be MATCHED you need to be ranked by them and you need to rank them also (that's why it is called a match). sooo if you were not invited for an IV it sounds awful but you don't exist for them and therefore you have no chance in earth to be in their ROL.... focus on your IV's... and even in those cases they might not rank you.... it happens!

HI,
today i received an email from eras about return of doucuments, i got ecfmg certification on 6 feb 2008, didnt get any interview for 2008 match, i will reapply for 2009 match, just wanna to know that if i wont ask eras to return my document , do they keep it for 2009 match, therfore i dont need to send these documents again.

no u should use RODs and get all ur documents back.
Althou I hope to match this year but still will get my documents back using RODs.

Thanks herry, for ur quick reply, from yr answer it seems that there is an option to leave yr documents or to take them back if one is willing to participate in 2009 match, but its better to get the document back, why it is better? can u plz explain it to me

you can request the documents because of letters of references in case you dont match. however, if you ahve waived your right to read the letters, they wont be returned.
if you dont match, ERAS keeps your certificate and dean's letter for the next match.

Transcript, MSPE and photo are kept as an electronic document for next year's match as tolito said, so you don't need to resend them but you could do so in case something changes. You can get everything back if you pay for it excepting LOR's that were waived.

Thanks glo MD and tolito, it means i can leave the document with them for the next year match, otherwise it would be a wastage of time and money to recollect them and to send them back, they are safe over there.

your ORIGINAL LORs will be destroyed if you don't request them back... and you will need them when you do match!
request a return of documents from ECFMG!!!
