so, what in the world i was doing ?
i am done with all chapters again in genetics, left with the last chapter genetic testing.
UW 50 qs random, tutor mode.

Even when i am impatient........i liked revising it !
thats the beauty of subject i think.......everytime we revise, we understand it in a new perspective!...everytime we read ...we collect some new points !

I remember the words ....my senior told me when i was in med school,
he told me that one guy read "Hutchison manual of medicine" about 50 times, and everytime he revised it, he came to know atleast one new point out of it !

aah, onething i did was...watching tv, my favorite thing !

i watched a really interesting program guys !.... about "stephen hawking " Oh man, cant believe his inspiring story !

he emerged as a great scientist...as great as Einstein, just at the age of 17.
he was diagnosed with Amyotropic lateral sclerosis ( called Low Gehrig's Disease in usa ), and wheelchair bound by 21.
he came up with a theory, that challenged the world of physics, and betting the scientists all over the world !
Every muscle in his body is paralysed, he cant move, cant speak, his doctors count days and months, yet he is a cheerful person....he is happy that his brain is working !
His only means of communication is computer with an onscreen keyboard !
earlier he used to reach it, by clicking a button in his hand.....later on his hand muscles became so weak, he cant even click it !
now he operates his computer by blinking his eyes !!!!!! ... an infrared blink switch clipped on to his glasses !

there comes the fellow scientists.....to prove his theory wrong, for which he worked for his entire life !
he is not backing up......not yet ! he hired a student for continuing his research to prove his theory is right, it took two yrs for that student to understand his words itself ........like this he continued to fight...got hospitalised now and then, yet didnt give up, came up with one more theory...not to prove the accuracy of his own ........but to prove others wrong who are trying to prove him wrong ...this became an another challenge to them !

In an interview....he answers the qs like this,

Are you always this cheerful?
Life would be tragic if it weren't funny.

Seriously, how do you keep your spirits up?
incurable motor-neuron disease has confined you to a wheelchair and caused you to lose the ability even to speak..... ?

I am quite often asked: How do you feel about having ALS. The answer is, not a lot. I try to lead as normal a life as possible, and not think about my condition, or regret the things it prevents me from doing, which are not that many. It was a great shock to me to discover that I had motor neurone disease. I had never been very well co-ordinated physically as a child. I was not good at ball games, and my handwriting was the despair of my teachers.

he is such a genius,
so successful and leading a fuller life than most able bodied people.

Earlier i used to write in kaplan or goljan itself, with that

UW
I am done with revising anatomy & beh sci in UW - need to jot down some notes frm beh sci, marked them.

FA
read embryo, beh sci once.

pHYSIO
started revising cardio qs on the back of the respective chapters - done with electrical activity of the heart.

Kaplan Qbank
did one block 50 qs, they seem easier than UW. I dont feel much to write from it, so im just putting the notes in words and short phrases, and marking the qns and also topics which i need to go through.

started revising Biochem in UW.

hi guyton replied in pathophys journal please do check good luck guyton

  #148

hi tia,

ya, i did see that,
kaplan qbank seems more straightforward qs, compared to UW.
and it takes time uw to complete the qs and revise, notedown.....etc !
u r exam is in may i think ..ok, keep going.

yest'day

I revised RBC disorders in gljan path.
could nt able to complete biochem revising in uw.

today :
complete uw biochem revision + WBC & lymphnodes
if possible will start pharm too.

when i was doing uw, there was probs with recollection and with understanding of some concepts, ..so i gave first priority to understanding, and took care of them
now, i need to cram, keep on recollect the stuff.
use whatever the mean..i can remember them, ...charts, sketch, figures, mnemonics, etc etc

yestday i did few of such things with RBC chapter.....with colorful sketches, that works well for me, just for those hemepathway, shilling test, types of anemias, tables which r already there in the book in black&white print.....i customized them with colors, put them down seperately on plain paper,
writing them down on our own, works very well.

I did the genetic part of biochem fewdays back, so if i am done with biochem revision in uw, then will revise Kaplan biochem notes...that completes the biochem.

i wanted to see how kapqbank is, and tried 50qs. I thought to continue doing it ..but i got a hunch...revising uw properly will be beneficial, even whn other sources are kept aside. so doing that for now.

Once i complete uw revision and complete revising all the subs once, i want to take NBME 1. assess myself, review those qs. and then will take NBME2 so on.

Yest'day i took the exam date,
earlier i thought april 30th, but ended up with may 15.
and the exam center is 10min away from home...cool !

that was my hubby's idea actually,
he got used to this confidential interval in completing the projects at his job, so he became more practical in estimating such timings.
so, whenever i give some timing...he adds 2wks to that.
when i asked him to subscribe uw, he wanted to go for 3months,
but i said no no no.....just take one month, that will be enough, i will do it,
later on, i extended it the next month, ...then next month......aaahahhhhhgringringrin
