1. dopamine = increased in doping, dope = addiction pathway is a dopamine pathway = yout get dopamine shots in your accumbens with doping

2. dopamine comes with nicotine, cafeine, amphetamine and cocaine and inhibits prolactine

3. drug induced parkinson disease = too much drugs (and previous dopamine) lead to too little dopamine (parkinson, rigidity) = frozen addict syndrome = you diped syour accumbens o much in dopamine that you became rigid, lost all your dopamine in subst nigra

doping ethymologically comes form doop = holland meaning souse, to dip => something you like, enjoy or you are addicted to gives you more dopamine

hope you enjoy it

Not really a mnemonic but something to remember the tests by....

CASE-CONTROL if its a case u already have a disease right and of course a control so what can u get CAUSE? RETOSPECTIVELY?So what are the ODDS that this is the cause of the disease is what Case -control tells. HERE GOES.

case control --------- ODDS RATIO.

COHORT STUDY if u start with risk factors in exposed and unexposed of cause already there what u get is the DISEASES. sO WHAT ARE THE RISK FACTOR THAT MIGHT CAUSE THE DISEASE EHH?

cohort study---------- RELATIVE RISKS AND ABSOLUTE RISK.

THE ONLY c LEFT IS CROSS-SECTIONAL STUDY SO IT GOES WITH chi SQ.

hOPE I HELPED.

MOST OF US ARE RIGHT-HANDED AND THINK THAT THAT'S BEING POSITIVE. HENCE, CONSIDER RIGHT TAILED CURVES AS POSITIVE SKEWED....THEY HAVE A MEAN TAIL ON THE RIGHT.

which means RIGHT TAIL only put MEAN BEFORE THE TAIL that makes mode the first thing.grin

Sounds complicated but really simple otherwise. same on the left-hand side...for the left mean tail.

Ok this one i'll go about in the backward fashion..........

ACCURACY How true? Hence both true/ total.TP + TN/ TP+TN+FP+ FN.

NEGATVE PREDICTIVE VALUE = TN / TN+FN since all about negatives.

POSITIVE PREDICTIVE VALUE = TP / TP+ FP sine all about positives.

SPECIFICITY = TN/ TN+ FP here the "p" is not the real thing it's actually an "n". So it's about all that are really N.

SENSITIVITY = TP/ TP+ FN....THE VICE VERSA.

REMEMBER most impotanly it is the rule of TRUES on top.wink Go through it once more slowly and u'll get it.

DONOT REJECT THE NULL HYPOTHESIS=NON SIGNIFICANT EFFECT=TYPE 2 ERROR

DO NOT ARE 2 WORDS,NON SIGNIFICANT HAS 2 N,SO, REMEMBER THAT IT IS RELATED WITH TYPE2 ERROR.

  #18

THUS, IF p VALUE IS MORE THAN 0.05 THEN DONOT REJECT THE NULL HYPOTHESIS.

this means that if u get more than what u want then u shud not reject that thing.

  #19

About sensitive and specific diagnostic tests:

SPIN = SP-ecificity / P-ositive / IN<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

SNOUT = SeNsitivity / Negative / OUT

Meaning that if a highly specific test is positive you accept the results;

if a highly sensitive test is negative you rule it out

A mnemonic I made for Narcissistic defense Mechanism is as follows
" Narcissistic Dan Denied his Stupendous Problems".
Narcissistic defences , distortion, denial , splitting , projection
Rememeber if you see splitting and they ask you about a personality disorder , the answer is borderline!!
