plz advise regarding the exam

i am planning to go for 2009 match. cleared step 1 & planning to give step 2 in june/july. I am planning to give csa in august. Is august too late to give exam and get the result? I think it takes 2-3 months to get the results. so my qoestion is can we start the application procedure ( which starts in sep) without the csa result and can upload the result anytime after we got it?
Another thingI want to know does the apllication without the CSA score affect the application and interview calls?
Any input highly appreciated......

yes you can apply without cs scores...
it wl affect interviews..most of the programs want ecfmg certificate in hand..especially if you are img
check usmle.org website to know when will your scores will get revealed...they hv gvn the whole schedule..check it...
you can start the application procedure ofcourse u can upload ur score later...

but caduceus....for exam in jun they report result in early aug ....so do i get enough time to get ecfmg certified? By that time my CK will also be reported,( i hope evrything goes well)ERAS opens in sep 1st wk right?

yes...check ecfmg for more schedule..abt when to submit documents and all stuff..they hv gvn everythng in detail

its fine if you dnt hv results before sept1st..u can still apply...its good to be ecfmgcertified before interviews

one more Q ...my CS result will be reported in Aug 6th but they say we got to submit all documents by aug1st. so im confused, pls somebody help me........will this affect me? want to match in 2009

OK , guys I have been through all this
so i would like to share the info as much as I can
1) taking an exam anytime , which helps you get the result by august
is fine , as you have enough time to get the certificate..
but a word of caution , do chek if ur med school has , submitted your documents as yet or not, as I got my cs result on aug15th, and due to the lethargy of my med school, i was certified on oct 18th.

2) and i would strongly recommend not to take the exam in august
as nowadays , with so many IMG's with full credentials applying , either you should be a really strong candidate , or else the least you can do is get certified in time.

3) does it affect interviews?
ABSOLUTELY
i got 3 calls before oct 18th (in 48 days)
and 3 calls within two days of being certified
and the remaining 12 in the next 15 days...

it has got a direct correlation

thats true...more the better...
if you are ecfmg certified before august end then it does boost your chances for interviews..bt the question says hes goin to get result in august..
so its nt gona affect his interviews as long as he gets passed cs
