hi there!
please can you help me out!
i plan to write my mle step 1 in august'08 and step 2 cs in nov'08.
i have got reviews from my friends that getting dates for step 2 cs is difficult and one may not get the dates he desires
they came out with a suggestion to book my step 2 cs dates along with step 1.
i am anxious about how my usmle step1 goes! and before appearing for it should i go ahead to book my step 2 cs date? and book both exams simultaneously?
please all those expirienced brains, please help me with this quandry!

It is totally upto you. If you are sure to do good on usmle than go ahead.

Are you planning on going for 2009? Because applying with only step 1 now a days is very ineffective...

i am planning to go for 2009 match. cleared step 1 & planning to give step 2 in june/july. I am planning to give csa in august. I s august to late to give exam and get the result?
anyone plz advise.....

Yes, try to have it before. Go ahead and set a date, you may try and change later, if you need it. But save a date to play safe.

nope i plan to go for the 2010 match.
so should i go ahead to book the step2 cs and step 1 dates together.
please tell me in this context and keepin 2010 match inview.
and is it that tough to get step2 cs dates 3-4 months in advance

well niranjan, if u r going for 2010 match, u got enough time so i dont see any need to book cs together with S1. to apply for match in 2010 march u just have to get ur CS, CK and S1 results before 2009 aug if u r an IMG. and yea it is difficult to get date for CS but booking in august this yr just after ur S1 can still get u a date somewhere in early 2009. What is important is ur S1 score. so concentrate well in it. But if u r really confident about urself u can go ahead.... . Then one more thing is, u dont have to clear S1 to sit for CS.
