DOes anyone know how to rank those programs? They all look pretty decent on their websites... I 'd like to pursue fellowship after.

NY is very diverse. You get a good variety of cases.......all types of demographics, and usually a LOT of hands-on experience. From what Ive jheard, no matter where you go in NY (residency program), you'll always come out confident and be ready to work anywhere in the US. The drawbacks are location (NY has some pretty bad neighborhoods, expensive housing (although you're compensated with higher resident salaries), and some hospitals are run down. Cant really tell you which place is better. Ive interviewed in places that I thought I wouldnt rank, but I know people that thought they were great opportunities. I guess it depends on what you're looking for and what is appealing. Good luck.

Start learning about programs at FREIDA: link: http://www.ama-assn.org/vapp/freida/srch/ ..... and check the web pages for each program Read some reviews at Scutwork: www.scutwork.com There are also some reviews here from people from this forum: http://www.prep4usmle.com/forum/thread/62892/ Google and find some "IMG friendly hospitals" lists and choose according to your credentials... apply to 70% of programs at your reach...and some 30% the type of "unlikely, but who knows", except: some "unfriendly" or extremely competitive competitive....

there is a good website that may help evaluate the programs: www.scutwork.com Unfortunately, not all the hospitals are ranked Very useful!

use the SEARCH button at the top right of the screen. input the names of various programs and often you can find threads with peoples opinions on them and other info.
