Heloo doknikki, i took my exam 9 ,10, and I know you took already once, but please do not ignore ccs, i had only 3-4 cases from UW, and trust me the other were so difficult bcs i wasnt ready to see them..MCQ are not like NBME, u world!!!fOR ME kAPLAN q BANK WAS THE CLOSEST SOURSE , UW good for knowledge but kaplan ask you an easy things but Q so long, like mine exam was. You did kaplan, read ccs and you will do great! Good luck!

dn25- Hey! congrats on finishing it! Thanks for your input. I think they changed the pattern a lil bit as when I took the test the questions werent long but awefully confusining. If now they are like kaplan q bank then it means time management is going to be a challenge. I did do the q banak quest ...hope i remember them..after that i did Blueprint quest ( 200 pedia and 200 obgyn) ..will do 200 psych and defintly try 200 IM too....the BP quest are long too so time management can be practiced. i will also do NMS quest as much as i can. Dear friend, I really dont know what they can ask in ccs out of the UW..i mean i cant do more than that for ccs. whatever comes i will just follow the pattern and work it up...I hope I know the specific treatment of the case though. Goodluck for the result dear.
Im doing ccs seriously from today. I have 9 days to go...half day will do ccs and rest half will do Quest / theory. Have FA to start and finish in this time. if i think i have alot to do...but will do MAX and rest a day before and just go. i canat do more than this.

I did 8 ccs yesterday and started my FA....It goes really fast and is very superficial but still its a review book that I always liked...will do it for confidence.
I got the BP quest of IM and now thats also on my list before the psych quest...I did Im remotely and need to QUICKLY brush up over everything...then Im all set for the exam.
so today I will do another 7-8 ccs...and then do a block of IM quest and then in evebing wiull read FA as much as I can cover...hope to cover 1/4th of it  ....lets see...time is less but if managed smartly can be really fruitful. 8 days to go!!

Docnikki , 8 days in more than enough if you know how to use it smartly . I believe that you CAN do it , so just do not loose faith and Go for it .
I am back this week with UW question and scored 54 % today .
I really think step 3 is not so much to study , it s more how things are being done in US hospitals , so the best way to study for it is by doing questions and learn from them no matter how bad you did . Anyway , my knowledge of medicine is not that bad since I just took all the tests recently . I have not touch CCS yet because of the time .I will fly to NYC next week and may be I will start when I get there .

thanks doc c..yes I agree...8 days ...means alot if you know what you need to do..and the energy level is high too in the last days..
Today i had to do some form work..my license ..lost half day but it was unavaoidable..
so have done only 3 ccs till now..will do 5 more..then will do FA!! want to alot of it..lets see what alot means.

today have to finish my ccs, ..then will need to revise them from tomorrow.
also need to do dermat and Opthal...the always ignored entities. Also a block of questions. and finalaly FA.

thanks doc 08 so much.
I just did dermat..but just from kaplan ck notes..is that enough..I dont think so..but what else/ any ideas?
now opthal...need to do before lunch time hurry!

I just did a block of UW and scored 48 % , I already read the explanations and made sure that I took some notes because I wanna do it twice .
Nikki for derma . I suggest you to look for some pictures and notes in Clinical Diagnostic book , I don t know if you have it but it could be very helpfull for you to take a look at it .
Time to go back in CK notes to refresh my hypocampus

great doc C! taking notes will help u remember your stuff.
I will surely look for the book "Clinical Diagnostic book " ...will have to look it up in the library..just wanted to make sure if this is the exact name of the book and if u could tell me the author..it will be easy to find. thanks again.
Did opthal..now finishing off the ccs...6 remain...they take long!

I finished my ccs and from tomorrow will re-do some prominent ones. now its evening and I have to do a blaock of quest and then do FA at bed time! oh gosh...I know the exam is going to be weird ...i hope to pass. will get back to u diary from time to time....this is a form of self-motivation for me ...that i need in these last 7 days.

ok now did my Blue print IM quest block and explainations- 64%
now Fa time and also bed time..sadly very tired for FA and its 11pm..will take a 15 min break and try reading FA till 1.00 am atleast...it goes fast and I should not feel sleepy...
from tomorrow 6 days will be left.
I did as much as i could today...could i do more--- No!

yesterdaynight had to do some housework as the landlord wants to take pictures of the apartment...sadly my rom mates arent home so had to do on my own...hence couldnt read Fa and slept at 1am.
6 days to go!
today I want to do the CCS give in the usmle cd, another IM Q block, Read the following Topics from the internet- women's health, Geriatrics, orthopedics, pain management. I dont know from where but will google. and then FA. I hope Im left with some energy at night to do my FA. Have to do some house work today too.
So Im strating with the topics today.

Hey lost in usa..Im doing exactly like that..thanks so much for stopping by and encouraging..need it for 6 more days!...I am just blindly studying what all I can..coz its endless..I dont know whre the end is but yes for sure I know the end is day before my exam day!
I did some selective topics of womens health...I know there's alot more but Im not doing more. Now after lunch I will sit and do fractures...I dont know which are imp..I will just do some..Im so poor in orthopedics.
See you diary after having some orthopedics in my head.

Instead of fractures I kept looking at Deramt and opthal pictures...deramt pictures were good in BP...i quickly scanned over treatrments and pictures..I hope i retain some of them if not all 
I have to scan through an atlas of radiographs..I know NOTHING in radiographs!
I cant do anything in EKGs as i know even if i do i will not recognize it in exam...so sad...how i hate step3!
so now its evening and I did alot of womens health and derm opthal pictures...
I have to do a block of questions now to be able to feel good about my day...and later in evening will do CCS cases on the usmle CD....and then FA!!

HELP!!
Im trying to do ccs cases on the usmle Cd...but it always says that you have completed this test item and does not let me do..I unistalled the fred software and re installed it again it says same...I did these once in last attempt but what is the way so thaat i can re- do it as fresh!
I already lost so much time this afternoon..and at night have to do alot of other work....cant loose more..plz reply soon.

ok my problem was solved...did the ccs cases on the software...im familiar with the software but need to revise my UW cases.....they are so many!
ok now will do FA and then sleep.
the day was stressfull...had other things in the afternoon...and at night also have some work to do...but managed to my best ...v good!
from tomorrow 5 days to go.
plan is to do cases for the first 3-4 hrs of the day and then FA/theory in the middle with a block of quest in late eveing.

thanks guddu and tauras for stopping by. Yesterday was very anxious as one by one day is passing and soon i will face this terrible exam. I know the quest are gonna be weird and ck doesnt cover that. Its not fair ..this is pure torture.
5 days to go!
today will start with CCS...I dont know how many i will do...but will do for 3-4 hrs. and then will do some questions and then FA/ notes.
will come here time to time to write my progress to keep myself going. I dont want to break..just 5 days..come on!!
