Hi guys , Sorry for the TIME OUT !
Lazydoc : Yes , I did listen to the DVDs lectures and they are way shorter than the CK ones , just a few hours for each subject . By the way , they are prettty much the same info as the CK ones , so it s up to you to decide if you wanna listen to them or not , depending also how familiar are you with the CK materials .

Guys , today I finally get the UW step 3 Q bank and CCS for 3 months . I just took a MCQs test and was so shocked to see that I scored 38 % ... That is so messed up man . How can I score so low even if its my first time ...... Well , I guess I was wrong about Step 3 is a similar exam as CK . That means I have to take it as serious as CK and hit the books again .
Ok , Step 3 here I come

Thanks doc clotaire.I am doing kaplan q book,UW and CK notes too.I have decided not to do the DVDs for now..Not decided about swanson and wash manual...

I got 360!! I really dont know what to do now... It wasnt hard but why such a low score exam in 1 week.... What to do?? postpone or go take it .....Confused and scared

Hi docnikki,
As I understand that you have already matched, If its not much hassle I would suggest that you postpone the exam and give it another thorough revision. Thats what I would have done. But the decision has to be yours.

I thought alot..like for 2 hours I was looking at the calander of dates...I decided to postpone...
I postponed for a week. my life is so messed up!! Behind me so many people are tensed...I'm ignoring my family my fiance my world..and this will continue for another week.
I don't know what i will do to improve my scores in another week...but I will work hardest and go for it.
Now my exam is on 21/22 nd april.

Hey docnikki,It's good thing you postpone, but remember this nbme doesnot give you even 90% correlation like previous ones, so just revised short book once and you will do it!Good Luck, my exam on 9, i didnt take nbme.Did Kaplan, Q bank and going...will see.

Thats what i decided..Im going to do FA and am doing Blue print questions. alsa will do NMS question book and conrad fisher questions...my question attempting skill is not so good so thats what i have to keep working on.
I hadnt done obgyn before my NBME( just got the cance to see few topics from FA..) So today I plan to work on Obgyn. sources...FA, Kaplan, my own notes and Blue print questions.
Must do few ccs every day...I am neglecting them so much. Cant afford to postpone more...so i should be really really really studying each min.

Today , I did 50 qs in UW and scored 67 % ......
that s what I am talking about , a lot better than yesterday . Well I read 100 explanations and it s time to read my CK notes now

Hey syra thanks so much. How is your prep going?
I did Obstetrics from kaplan and FA. had forgotten so much of kaplan..thats why people say must take step3 close to ck. I have a feelling that step3 quest require knowledge and judgement beyond what is in kaplan books...not in material but in the judgement part taking into consideration the whole scenario of the case with many findings.....thats why its very imp to know the stuff so that you know what the diagnosis is at least...but they will ask u something in management so for that doing alot of questions is the key.
Though I take time in doing my theory but i still have to do that and also have to do alot of questions otherwise ITS NO USE!
now doing Gyn.

OKay ..........
I just did 50 question in UW and scored 48 % , well I must admit that it was a very tough set of questions .I will have to find the time to do CCS since I did not touch it yet in UW .
Now , I am going to read FA and UW CK Notes because It dawn on me that some concepts are kinda similar as those in CK .

I did 100 blue print Obgyn quest...100 more to go.

hey nikki, I have been out oftouch. Sorry dear. U remember I had the same reaction after NBME. But in the real exam questions aren't like NBME or UWorld. They are very very intutive. They are vague yet difficult. I did UW, kaplan , USMLE step 123 and NBME yet I will say questions in real exam aren't like these. I want to tell you again DONOT IGNORE CCS. cos whatever u read the questions are gonnna be unpredictable. but CCS is one thing which u can master with comparitively less effort. SO spend good time and effort on CCS. There is no end to the scope of questions, you may have to take 6 months to do it all. I am serious, but CCS is one thing which if you did the best will help you a lot. I know your CCS were good last time, but still practice them a lot and DONT POSTPONE THE EXAM MUCH. I'm so scared for my results lets see what happens. Good Luck and dont lose heart.. You consoled me after my NBME remember now recall same advice..

thanks so much redddd. I hae followed your every advise and u have been my motivation throughout. I have planned nicely for ccs..in 2-3 days will finish the 30 that remain and then will do them all over again. I know they will help me pass and I should really have them done well this time also.
I wish you pass with a very good score. Im sure you will. You have worked so hard and sacrificed so much. I think I'm the best person who can understand what you have been through as I am exactly in the same boat! its very very painful to do it over again and we have missed such alot of life in this while. God is there. he will pay our hard work. and as you had said..its not the end of the world afterall....
i almost finished gyn...
after Gyn all my major subj are done..Im not going to open my books again..i will just have FA and my notes..but will definitly go over IM once more..at least imp topics..amnd will keep doing questions.
Questions- in my list I have BP psych(200) left, obgyn( 100 remain), NMS(750 remain)..wont do all but will try max.
I will do 10-15 ccs every day from tomorrow.
