Good to see you back syra ! Well , It is a relief to know that not only me is very slow for step 3 and looking for motivation . We are all in the same boat and need to do that last step to end that USMLE pathway . I am done with IM now , I am going to do OB-GYN now . Good luck to every one and keep up with the good work .

Welcome Syra. Thanks so much for joining this journal. We studied together in ck and did so well..I missed u so much in step3 prep and messed up my exam. But honestly I did not do a justifiable prep of the level I did in ck. The idea was just to get over with it half heartedly as I had too many breaks in study coz of interviews and travellin back home country and some personal distractions. But thats not the way and this exam needs alot of attention. So Im giving all that this time. I am sure you are going to do really well on this. Its good that u started with UW. make sure u revise that and then begin Q bank. its a very good idea. Currently I am doing Q bank questions and trying to read theory from kaplan Ck and Uw notes and also trying to fit in WM for reference which Im unable to. FA is also on my list. I wish you all the best in your prep! Welcome again! Hugs.

thanks doc_clotaire and docnikki. its feels good to be a part of this diary. i have just started preparing for this exam but i can tell that this step needs proper time and concentration. its not a piece of cake as some ppl say. but main thing is motivation...which i am lacking right now anyways yesterday read some cardio from ck notes and did UW resp 56 q's. today finished reading the explanations. did 50 endo q's. i'll do the explantions tomorrow. as its sunday so didnt study in the evening. i have UW in the book form. so it has its advantages and disadvantages. i'm not timing myself. scoring very poor. but trying to learn from my mistakes. GL to all

thanks symphony and generous. I preparing for march end or maybe april first week. I cant delay more than 3rd week april coz have to go back in last week. so lets see. Regarding q bank..it will improve ur test taking strategy...the quest are not very exam style or tricky but long enough to make you practice the fast reading and processing info and completing blocks on time. so yes its worth buying not for information but for practicing. But only if you are done with Uw thoroughly as UW is no doubt the best quest source as far as the exam style and quest standard is considered. I finished Renal now starting Rheumat. have to cover from ck kaplan and UW cK notes. its almost evening...dont feel like doing questions..just feel like reading theory so Im carrying on with theory..maybe I can cover a huge chunk like this and tomorrow will just do questions. Not bad

Start with OB GYN .. read CK notes and FA I agree that question in Q bank are too long and have to much useless info to distract you but I think if you can handle them ,you will do better in the real exam since questions are not that long according to nikki . Now , I will try to do some respiratory questions from Q bank

wow you guys have really picked up speed. my day was slow. just finished the explanations of 50 endocrine q's i did yesterday. resp q's were easy. endo q's are a lil bit tough and there are so many new points in the explanations. plus i've forgotten most of ck stuff so its going slow. i wanted to do more q's today but now i'll read some ck notes. tomorrow i'll start with rest of endo q's....106 q's left....too much!!!!!

same here...did not study much. i cant even say its match tension...its just distraction....reason for not to study. i really wanted to study hard before match because i know after that i'll have more reasons not to study. anyways i was wrong about the no. of endo q's left. total was 106. i did 50 the other day and 56 yesterday but didnt finish all the explanations because of laziness. so i'll finish that today and read endo from ck notes. GL doc_clotaire for cs result and docnikki and me for match.

It happens syra! dont worry..u remember what we used to do when we got slowed down? ...make a new time table . I couldnt study yesterday and in the evening had 4 hrs left and was so tired to sit with my books so i decided to treat myself differently..watched TV and baked a cake. have messed up my timetable so have to re adjust a little to cope up for the loss. Will do thaat tomorrow. Today will finish Prev and endo today and then lets see. The prob is that the topics that ive finished i feel im out of touch eg I started with CVS..and now i feel I have to do it again...what to do..maybe I will quickly revise Im again after am done with it. Lets see.

Great doc clot..u are our insipiration...you keep going subj after subj and have a good speed. I appreciate your steadiness. I did endo yesterday...couldnt do preventive medicine... so today will do prev and some questions too. yesterday was looking at harroson's self a ssessment and board review...the questions seem good and i got tempted to do some..so lost time and couldnt finish yesterday's target...thats how I keep wandering..dont know if its good or bad. Jack daniel...I would have shared my timetable with you but need to make one first. I keep modifying my time table after every 2-3 days....as i study my study style changes sometimes my speed too so the timetable keeps changing accordingly... I just make a rough one so that I am on the right track and never stick to it 100%...I do as i feel just keeping a watch on myself that im not wandereing too away of my schedule. my ENT , EKG and dermat are weak..Im looking for some source to help me with this. Have a nice day frenz

Thank you for replying docnikki. Actually for two days now i am stuck with infectous diseases watching lectures and reading step 3 notes and comparing them with FA step 3. Ofcourse i did not study all hours of the whole day but still.... I took step 2 a year ago, scored mid 90's but barely remember anything now. I am planning to take exam by the end of April. So i dont know how much time should i be spending on each topic considering i ahvent even started UW...i am soooooo lost!

Hey jack ! I guess you should not decide time on each topic..rather should decide sources for that topic and do ur best to finish them...so I guess whatever minimum time u take will be the required time and you cant do anything in advance to modify that time...so go ahead and read till u understand solve quest till u get them right...and so on.. GL!

hey, i'm back. dont ask me where i've been.....distractions. jack daniels...you can see my time table on my march 1st post. its just a rough schedule. i started with q's. i took ck 10 months back. forgotten most of the stuff. u can start with revising that. i wanted to do that along with q's but its slowing me down. so just trying to finish IM q's and then i'll see what to do next. GL I did renal and electrolyte q's today. i have to read the explanations now. doc-clotaire i'm impressed by your speed. and docnikki u r doing great. take care everyone.

I have to soon fill my exam form and guess what! Im scared to take this test and it seems that I had been studing well not thinking about exam...but now hard to concentrate and so scared of the exam...I dont want to remember the day I went to take the test ...never had thought will fail it....now with what confidence am I going to go...the fact no more is true that I never have failed I will pass....Im away from home ..feel so lonely and uncared and the situation is the toughest so far in my life. ...and I am dealing with my confidence fluctuations, patience crisis and emotional instability. Right now I feel I can never take any test again...failing once took away my most important exam taking quality...my confidence!! Trying to earn that back

@docnikki: don't hang your head low! You will pass the exam like thousand others did before. My very personal opinion is, that endurance is much more important in life than confidence. So keep on studying, fill out the exam forms, and take the test!
