well guys, i am done with my step 2 ck on jan 16th n waiting for the result..i did kaplan notes and U W. and took NBME form 2 n 3.. that is all about my prep material. I was pretty comfortable when i started the exam first 2 blocks went on well at least i felt they went on well, then i don't know how my rest of the blocks went, it was really tough on me to catch up with my energy levels for the final 2 blocks. I did UW questions twice my avg % was 56 and 75. my NBME scores form 3 (450 )and 510 form 2.. but i did 2 revisions after my final NBME. I was quite confident when i went for the exam..Don't know how my result is gonna come..
I felt UW and step 1 helped me a lot during the exam, i strongly suggest kaplan material and UW. the key is repeated revisions and solving questions in timed mode. There are few controversies between the kaplan material and UW, i suggest u to look in to CMDT for those issues.

i have almost for got to tell u about AV questions. i got 2 questions both the questions were on heart sounds.

HI Ishu...thx 4 sharing ur exp with us... is thr a way 2 practice for d AV questions? i dont knw if i'm good enuf at diagnosing on the basis of heart sounds

biochemistry questions? drug mode of action? or pathophysiology or micro ???

hey ishu..wish u all the best for ur result...can u tell how long was ur preparation time..i started studying for stpe2 in jan after i cleared step 1..i really want to take the exam in 2nd week april...i m going to start doing ques tomorrow onwards for 2 moths..i went thr kaplan notes once thou i feel i don't know much...

yes, i did get lot of step 1 material based questions, they asked me nerve lesions, and Neuro anatomy based questions, i feel the nerve lesions are very important topic in Anatomy. Bio chem i did not remember any . micro , i got those few may be 2 or 3 from Most common cause of pneumonia's. Pharmac i was tested on ACE Inh in 4 different ways in different questions. its been a while so i didn't remember many .. will post as i remember.. thank you..

thanks for all u r wishes.. i am still waiting for my result. 4 months prep is good enough, if u slog for 12 to 14 hrs a day. And make sure u do lots of questions, cover all UW.. i don't have any idea from where we can learn heart sounds, the normal sounds were given in CD sent by the NBME.. try to learn them first.
