I am taking step2 cs in september. I understand that one must be ecfmg certified before he is eligible to take step3.ecfmg cert requires passing steps 1, 2ck, and 2cs. does that mean i have to wait for 2 months (which is the usual duration b/w step2cs and receiving ur result)bfore i can take step 3?

Yes, if you are an IMG you need the ECFMG certificate to apply for USMLE Step 3, which means that you have to take and pass Step 1 & 2(CK+CS) and wait for the ECFMG certificate.
