Clinical presentation: pyloric stenosis?

What is the next step in management?

1.) Correct electrolytes

2.) perform ultrasound

We always have to compensate the electrolyte disbalance first (hypochloremic, hypokalemic metabolic alkalosis) then do more studies(if the clinical presentation is classic there is not need for more interventions that should be done only if the diagnosis is in doubt) . The definitive treatment------->surgery (pyloromyotomy).

any case, any condition, always stabilise and support first, investigate and confirm next.
first question to ask when you see any pt- is he stable enough to wait for inv or should i be intervening first to keep him safe
pt vomiting/diarrheaetc=dehydrated, electrolytes abn-correct that first
resuscitate, stabilise, support then investigate.smiling face
