i got quite a few, not too bad, discussing about risky behavior with teenager, patient's right of not getting treatment, patient getting frustrated waiting after a long time,
you are doing great, dont be afraid, keep studying, if you dont feel like nbme, thats fine. You will definitely ace the exam!

i think medicaid covers coz medicare doesnot cover nursing homes or prescription drugs....they cover just speech therapy, dialysis, ambulatory services...

biostat, i got a lot, more than ethics, if you read first 2 chapters of kaplan behavioral science, you will be fine, i what kind of study is that, case control or cohort, or cross sectional, then choose,

sensitivity formula, for some strange reason, 2 by 2 table and do math, so remember, sensitivity, specificity, ppv, pnv, these are very close, and it will be easier if you can remember the formula, so you can move fast.

sleep apnea, antisocial behavior.

i dnt know abt social security....i think tht has no link with when tht person is in nursing homes
medicare gives care to elderly over 65 with physician and out patient assistance not in patient...i.e in nursing homes
n medicaid is monitory aid for the needy....who hav low pay scale and retired and disabled...medicaid is a broader term i think so

hi jounal.........
i m already lagging behind my schedule.......
how to overcome this stupid anxiety which wastes a lotttt of my time.....madmad
enough of wasting time........
hav to complete 4 blocks of micro...1 block of bistats n 1 block of behav.....
+ at the end of day revise my theory..........
a lottt to do..........
as truely said by milee this is really a RACE AGAINST TIME
see u later
plz input ur last min study tips for micro...is FA enough?

hi angel i really can't say much if FA is sufficient for micro,as i haven't seen FA yet,but i have read many posts here and there saying that FA is enough for micro, even pharmac.

as for the stupid anxiety........... it is natural, everone gets it before the exams..... only thing is you should not let it steal your precious time away from you.... this time is really important and you need to make the best of it.

now whenever your mind start to get wandering or anxious to the extent that you can't keep your focus in the subject, tell yourself one thing.... this time is really really important, and you would rather use it by revising your concepts,so that while you write the exam you feel less anxious and more confident and sure about yourself...

i was in a bad shape when i wrote my step2 in october and this is how i used to straighten my mind... whenever i saw anxiety taking me over i thought that i should rather use my time properly now than to regret on the exam day and think that i wish i had done it... i told myself i have only two choices either to regret that day and afterwards or study now.... it helped me... only you can control your mind.so do that.... be sure of yourself and think positive.... you are now so close to your goal, its a good thing... see it this way....

you will come out as a winner in this race against time as well as the exam.. nod

GOOD LUCK

The drug that is most likely to abused is that which causes the greatest euphoric effect. Euphoria is mediated by mu opioid receptors, and meperidine is the only drug listed that is a full mu agonist

Reserpine acts by blocking vesicular uptake of monoamine neurotransmitters (NE, dopamine, serotonin), thus making the neurotransmitter vulnerable to the catabolic effects of monoamine oxidase (MAO) present in the nerve terminal.

High doses of reserpine can even destroy synaptic vesicles. Chronic administration of reserpine causes depletion of NE. Therefore, for a drug to raise BP after NE depletion, it must act directly on the alpha1 adrenergic receptors present on arterioles.

Phenylephrine, a direct alpha1 agonist, is such a drug.

the line represents blood testes barrier...tight junctions of sertoli cells(cells with prominent nucleoli....the one line is connecting)seal the barrier.....
meiosis begins on outer part below this line....these cells are spermatogonia n then these grow and in prophase of meiosis 1 they cross this line and enter adluminal compartment......
the cells immediately above the line have dense chromatin----primary spermatocytes and as u go further towards lumen cells with pale chromatin can b seen ---secondary spermatocytes....
then further spermiogenesis occurs
part below the line is continously exposed to antibodies in blood so not suitable for growth of sperm

hi angel

you are doing great..... don't panic at this time, keep your calm, this will help u the most......

i saw your thread about pharma.... you've got some great advice there,i hope you are more comfortable wtith pharma than you were two days back.well my two cents for pharma is; do revise your ans very well.... i've read many experiences and most of them stress on ANS... so do it well....do have a look at those drugs graphs etc.

your exam is on 19th????just guessing by the number of days you mentioned.. if i am wrong do correct.
