72 year old woman presents with abrupt onset of face and arms.MRIis consistent with infarct in middle cerebral artery area.patient's brain demonstrates liquefied areas without preservation of cell outlines...what is the underlying pathology?

brain infarct.......liquefactive necrosi...due to action of hydrolytic enzymes from neutrophils and damaged tissue

brain necrosis is always a liquefactive necrosis loss of cell substance due to hydrolytic reactions of lysosomal enzymes.
how to differentiate just looking no history on gross picture of brain b/w liquefactive necrosis is due to infarct or abscess??is it possible?
