Hi, I am Helen and new to this forum. I am originally from the Philippines and migrated here in the US 8 months ago and I am planning to take and try my luck with the USMLE. Its been a long time since I graduated from medicine, so I do need any advice on what good materials I will need for my study preparation for Step 1. I have heard of Kaplan and First Aid review materials, I'm not sure which ones I should study? And does anyone know where I can buy the Kaplan Lecture notes and DVDs? Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi Helen,
I´m an IMG too. I will have my step 1 next week. I studied First Aid and I really liked it. Most of the times it is not a textbook. More notes and pics. If you still recall the connections between the subjects, FA is definitely a good review book.
I did USMLEWorld and Kaplan QBank so I agree with toofar. Let´s see if my preperation was good for the actual exam (I hope).
Good luck to you!

Well you can go ahead and buy Rapid Review of PAthology by Goljan which you can buy it from here or anywhere else you need to here No matter what people almost 90% of people go for Goljan. There are his famous audios which can be found at the blogs and websites.

For rest of them you will have to go through blogs and websites and you might find a working link for the all the material online but they all will be 2005 editions (except in certain cases).

Get High Yield Neuro-anatomy for neuroanatomy. and also First Aid which is also a good review book ( but has mistakes in it so be careful).

Still if you cant find a good deal on Ebay or amazon ask around maybe someone be willing to give them to you free of cost.
