Hello all grin ,
I have started studying for step 1.I would like to know what is the order of importance among the 7 subjects in the exam.Like, is pathology the most important?Should I give more effort in studying for it?Kindly help me out guys. :?: Thank you.

Pth/Phys/Pharm = 75%
Micro = 15%
Behavioral/Biochem/Anatomy = 10%

Is that about right?

1. Anatomy/physio/biochem
2. Pathology/Micro/behavioral sciences
3. Pharmacology

It will be easy for you to understand if you first study the NORMAL (Anatomy/physio/biochem)... then study the ABNORMAL (Pathology/micro/behavioral)... then TREATMENT (pharma).

I don't think it will be easy to understand pathology even its very important w/o understanding anatomy/histology. I also don't think we will grasp pahrma w/o knowing the pathology first.

Good Luck

It would be a BIG mistake to spend the same amount of time reviewing anatomy or biochem as you would pharm or path. Admittedly, if you never learned any of it, then yes, you start at the beginning...but if you are reviewing, you have to play odds, and most of the test is related to concepts that are inherent to Path/Pharm/Physio. Just my opinion.

-- YOU DON'T HAVE TO GIVE THEM ALL THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME. I WAS JUST SUGGESTING THAT IN NUMBER 1. (ANATOMY/PHYSIO/BIOCHEM) HE CAN START WITH ANY OF THE 3... THAT IS IF HE OPTED TO DO THAT. HE CAN SPEND ONLY A DAY IN ANATOMY IF HE WANTS. YOU JUST DON'T WANT TO PASS, RIGHT? YOU ALSO WANT TO UNDERTAND WHAT YOU ARE STUDYING. AND MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT WE ARE REVIEWING BECAUSE IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO REMEMBER EVERYTHING WE HAVE LEARNED BEFORE. I GUESS THERE'S NOTHING WRONG IF I GIVE A SUGGESTION. IT'S UP TO kman610 IF HE WOULD CHOOSE MY ADVISE OR NOT.

True...no offense intended. But the OP did ask about the "order of importance" not the order of studying.
