Hi friends. I completed my MBBS in 2003 and worked in a hospital for3 years in India(general practitioner).Since last 1 year i am doing nothing(planning my future () .Now i wish to take USMLE exams but i am very apprehensive(heard that old IMGS dont get into rsidency prog) about getting success becoz i wont be ready fr the match before 2010-11(6-7 years after graduation). What should i do to increase my chances(which look minimal now) of gettin matched?I have heard that many schools staright away reject your application if u graduated 5 years back.... Does a short(6 mths) research experience outside US in field of Genetics(Germany -as my husband is working here) would help me?? I shall be highly grateful if u can help me as i am in a depressed state of mind. best,

hi tinki, I too graduated in 2003, finished internal medicine in 2006... some programs take people after 10 years. Don't worry, you will find something, but you must score above 85... About experience, us experience is the best, you can apply for a clinical rotation after one of the steps...
